IF YOU RECOGNIZE YOURSELF IN NEO-STILNOVISM
An Invitation to Established Artists to Submit Their Application
INTRODUCTION
There are artists for whom beauty is not merely appearance, but knowledge, memory and responsibility.
Artists who entrust their work with human, spiritual, poetic, symbolic or ethical meaning; who regard technique as a form of discipline and believe that art should possess the strength to transcend time.
If these principles already belong to your artistic research, you may be closer to Neo-Stilnovist Painting than you realise.
The Carmelo Fabio D’Antoni Foundation invites established Italian and international artists with a mature and documentable artistic career to submit their application for recognition within the Neo-Stilnovist movement founded by Maestro Carmelo Fabio D’Antoni.
We Are Not Looking for Imitators
Neo-Stilnovism does not ask artists to paint like its founder.
It does not impose a predetermined visual formula, nor does it require artists to abandon or modify their individual style.
We are looking for authentic artistic personalities capable of expressing, through an independent and recognizable language, a vision of art founded upon:
Beauty. Human dignity. Inner depth. Memory. Symbol. Technique. Cultural responsibility.
Every artist retains complete creative and professional independence.
Recognition within Neo-Stilnovist Painting is based upon the affinity between the artist’s existing research and the cultural and artistic principles of the movement.
If this vision describes what you have always attempted to express through your work, you may not be encountering a movement to which you must adapt.
You may simply be discovering the name of an artistic belonging that was already present within your work.
WHO MAY APPLY
Applications are intended primarily for artists who have already developed a mature, recognizable and documentable artistic career.
The evaluation considers not only technical ability, but the overall coherence of the artist’s research.
Particular attention is given to:
artistic authenticity;
quality of the work;
technical and expressive maturity;
symbolic, poetic, spiritual or ethical depth;
consistency of artistic research;
documented professional activity;
cultural contribution;
professional conduct.
Neo-Stilnovism is not intended to create stylistic uniformity.
Different techniques, languages and artistic identities may coexist within the movement when they share its deeper cultural principles.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION
Applications must be sent to the Secretariat of the Carmelo Fabio D’Antoni Foundation and should include:
- A personal letter explaining why you recognize your artistic research within Neo-Stilnovist Painting.
- An updated artistic curriculum vitae.
- A short professional biography.
- A portfolio containing a representative selection of artworks.
- A professional photograph of the artist.
- Relevant articles, publications, interviews, awards or institutional references.
- Links to the artist’s official website and professional platforms, where available.
- Complete contact information.
Materials should allow the Foundation to understand both the artist’s professional history and the deeper identity of their artistic research.
THE EVALUATION PROCESS
Each application is considered individually.
The artistic assessment is entrusted to Carmelo Fabio D’Antoni, Founder of Neo-Stilnovist Painting, while formal admission is carried out by the Foundation according to its internal procedures.
Submitting an application does not constitute automatic admission.
The evaluation may consider:
the authenticity and quality of the works;
the consistency of the artist’s research;
the professional curriculum;
the cultural significance of the artistic practice;
the relationship between technique, form and meaning;
the artist’s professional conduct;
the compatibility of the research with the identity and mission of Neo-Stilnovist Painting.
The purpose of the evaluation is not to determine whether an artist resembles another Neo-Stilnovist artist.
The purpose is to determine whether an authentic correspondence already exists between the artist’s individual research and the principles of the movement.
OFFICIAL RECOGNITION
When an application receives a favourable evaluation, the artist will receive an official agreement of adhesion and recognition.
The document must be reviewed, signed and returned to the Foundation Secretariat before the admission process is considered complete.
A recognized artist may also receive a specific designation corresponding to the distinctive nature of their research.
This allows Neo-Stilnovism to recognize differences rather than suppress them.
An artist may therefore enter the movement while preserving an individual artistic identity, personal iconography and independent professional trajectory.
AFTER RECOGNITION
Artists officially recognized within Neo-Stilnovist Painting may be presented through the institutional, editorial and cultural channels connected with the movement and the Foundation.
These may include:
The Carmelo Fabio D’Antoni Foundation
institutional profiles and cultural activities;
The Stilnovist
international editorial publication and journal of Neo-Stilnovism;
Ars Magistris
Italian art and culture publication;
Neo-Stilnovism official platforms
archives, documentation and movement-related cultural communication.
Possible participation in exhibitions, publications, interviews, cultural projects, conferences or other initiatives will be determined separately according to the programming and requirements of each project.
Recognition within the movement does not automatically imply participation in every initiative.
AN INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT OF DISTINCT VOICES
Neo-Stilnovism was not created to reproduce one painter.
Its purpose is not to generate followers of a style.
Its ambition is broader.
To bring together artists who still believe that art can carry beauty without superficiality, technique without sterility, symbolism without emptiness and individuality without isolation.
An international artistic movement becomes meaningful when different cultures and personal languages can enter into dialogue without losing their identity.
For this reason, an artist from Italy, Finland, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, the United States or any other part of the world does not need to abandon their cultural background to become Neo-Stilnovist.
That difference can become part of the movement’s richness.
WHAT NEO-STILNOVISM DOES NOT REQUIRE
Neo-Stilnovism does not require:
the imitation of Carmelo Fabio D’Antoni;
the reproduction of a specific subject;
the use of a mandatory palette;
a single painting technique;
a predetermined iconography;
the abandonment of an artist’s previous research;
stylistic conformity between members.
What matters is not superficial resemblance.
What matters is the cultural and artistic affinity beneath the image.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are interested in artists whose work demonstrates a genuine relationship with one or more of the following principles:
Beauty as knowledge rather than decoration.
The dignity of the human figure.
Symbolic and archetypal research.
Spiritual or philosophical depth.
Memory and dialogue with artistic tradition.
Technical discipline and knowledge of materials.
The transformation of tradition rather than its imitation.
Emotional authenticity.
Cultural responsibility.
The ability of art to communicate beyond the immediate image.
An artist does not necessarily need to embody every principle in the same way.
What matters is the coherence and authenticity of the overall research.
